Last month, Jakob Kerkhoff, a Socialist Party MP in Logejo, announced his resignation as the Prime Minister of Saspearian. Prime Minister Kerkhoff attributed health issues to his reason for resignation. Additionally, he recently renounced his citizenship from Saspearian. As a result of Jakob Kerkhoff’s resignation as the Prime Minister and renoucing of citizenship, a Parliamentary Special Election and a Prime Minister Special Election have been triggered. The Parliamentary Special Election began on May 4 and concluded on May 6.
The Parliamentary Special Election was expected to be competitive, and three citizens had announced their candidacy for the seat. The candidates included Katrina Ramirez, a member of the Anarchist Party of Saspearian; Henry Gibson, an Independent; and Patreyk Narjid, a member of the General People’s Movement in Saspearian.
Prior to the election, the seats that were represented in Parliament included one of each of the political parties and affiliations: the Saspearian Workers Party, the Democratic-Socialist Party, the Saspearian Progressive Party, the Whig Party of Saspearian, and an Independent.

May 6, 10:58 PM – SBC News has projected that Patreyk Narjid will be elected to the Parliament.
Patreyk Narjid won with a comfortable lead of five votes. Henry Gibson trailed Narjid with two votes, and Katrina Ramirez trailed both of the candidates with one vote.
Prime Minister Special Election
As announced by Emperor Anthony I on May 12, the Prime Minister Special Election will be held on May 16 through May 18. Four Members of Parliament have announced their candidacy so far: Onyx Blackhawk, an Independent MP in Logejo; Niall MacDavid, a Whig MP in Logejo; Former Prime Minister Elizabeth Malcolm, a Socialist-Democratic MP in Logejo, and Patreyk Narjid, a member of the General People’s Movement, who has been recently elected as an MP in Logejo.

May 18, 10:35 AM – SBC News has projected that Patreyk Narjid, who was also recently elected as a Member of Parliament, will be elected as the Fifth Prime Minister of Saspearian.
Patreyk Narjid won with a lead of four votes; Onyx Blackhawk trailed Narjid by a difference of two votes, receiving two votes. Elizabeth Malcolm trailed both candidates, receiving one vote. No votes were reported to have been cast for Niall MacDavid.
