On Wednesday, the National Corporatist Party MP in Logejo, Luis Rutter, resigned, citing political disagreements with other citizens of Saspearian, which he attributed to a left-leaning political environment and his political interests. The resignation has prompted a Special Election to be held in Logejo. The Special Election of which is ongoing and will conclude on February 9. In addition, the Prime Minister Election, originally scheduled to be held on February 5, has been delayed to February 12.
One candidate is running in the election: Jakob Vancapelle, who is a member of the Socialist Party of Saspearian.
Currently, the seats that are represented in Parliament include one of each of the political parties and affiliations: the Saspearian Worker’s Party, the Democratic-Socialist Party, the Socialist Party of Saspearian, the Saspearian Progressive Party, and Independent.

Jakob Vancapelle recieved a significant lead with seven votes, which made up all the votes that had been cast.
Prime Minister Election
The upcoming Prime Minister Election, which is set to be held starting on February 12, will be the first Prime Minister Election in Saspearian’s history in which all citizens may cast their votes to elect the Prime Minister. Historically, the Parliament votes to elect the Prime Minister following Parliamentary General Elections. A recent law was passed on February 1, unanimously 6-0 in Parliament, to elect the Prime Minister by a national popular vote.
There are currently five candidates: Democratic-Socialist Party MP in Unueco, Elizabeth Malcolm), Independent MP in Logejo, Onyx Blackhawk, Socialist Party of Saspearian MP in Logejo, Niall MacDavid, Saspearian Progressive Party MP in Veranderen, Marek Flechensteine-Squirtzle, and Jakob Vancapelle, Socialist Party of Saspearian MP in Logejo.

Jakob Vancapelle won the election with a lead of six votes, and former Prime Minister Elizabeth Malcolm trailed with three votes. Marek Flechensteine-Squirtzle and Onyx Blackhawk were tied with one vote. No votes were reported for Niall MacDavid.
Jakob Vancapelle will go on to serve as the 4th Prime Minister of Saspearian.
