The May 2026 MA Chair Special Election is an election in which members of the Micronational Assembly will cast their votes to elect the next Chair of the organization. The election is scheduled to be held from May 8 to May 10, and the winner of the election will go on to serve for the remainder of the current term, which ends in July.
This election comes as the MA stands in a pivotal period, in which several reforms are expected to be undertaken during the remainder of the term, including reforms to the Charter and a future summit. The MA has recently experienced a turbulent period, in which tensions emerged over a proposed Charter in January, and the MA server was moved last month following a server raid.
On April 22, Jonathan Gundy was removed as the Chair following the passage of a vote of no confidence in the General Assembly, which passed by a vote of 10–0 with two abstentions. The vote of no confidence was motioned by Chief Justice Anthony I on April 19, citing inactivity issues and an absence of development under Gundy’s leadership in accordance with Article VIII of the Charter. Article VIII permits the removal of the Chair in cases of prolonged inactivity. Following his removal, King Txec of Talossa was appointed to serve as Acting Chair by Chief Justice Anthony I.
