On August 7, 2022, the Chairman of the Micronational Assembly, Fredrick M., removed Anthony I from the position of Council Member and later banned Saspearian from the Micronational Assembly. This comes several hours after the August 2022 election was set to end. The situation has led to a political crisis in the organization, with some members in support and neutrality of the decision and many others in opposition.

Fredrick M. issued a statement in the MA for the reason for the removal claiming that Anthony I has the lack of mental ability to serve at his post in the Micronational Assembly and that there has alienated other members due to erratic speech patterns and behaviors demonstrating an unwell mental state. He also claimed that combined with inappropriate unrequited affection towards a former female member of the Assembly, he has also demonstrated an unwell mental state. In addition, he claimed that his past actions showed a lack of trustworthiness, such as the creation of a new assembly following a council disbursement in 2020. He concluded his statement by saying that this has been the reason for the delay in an election announcement and that he apologizes for the inconvenience.
The council removal comes despite Anthony I had not listed creating a new MA, in his campaign platform nor advocating for it in over a year.
Shortly after the Chairman made his statement, Anthony I responded to his statement.
“Earlier today, the Chairman, Fredrick M., decided to remove me from the Council of the Micronational Assembly and ban me from the organization. I like for everyone in the MA to hear me about this and for a compromise to be reached.
I do not believe that I have acted in a way that is an inability or disqualifies me to serve a position in the Micronational Assembly and alienated other member states by my speech patterns, in the present. Regarding my messages that were claimed to be erratic speech patterns, they were never used in formal venues, the subject of these messages is memes, nothing else, and I have since stepped away from doing that. The individual who I believe was a former female member of the assembly referred to in the announcement, was someone who was also involved in Saspearian, in all the messages that I have sent to her, there was nothing that involved harassment or anything else that would be inappropriate. That would go against what I believe in. In addition, I haven’t been in contact with her, aside from a message in which I wished that she was doing well. I have since apologized and moved forward from my idea of divergence with the “new MA” which happened in March 2021. However, I will say that most of my plans for the idea are things that I have campaigned for such as expanding social media outreach and forming better connections between member states. I also acknowledged that I have moved forward from it before in a campaign speech. I am appalled to see that I have been removed as a Council Member and as a candidate in the election due to an accusation of inappropriate conduct with a female individual, which is not true, and the events that I have moved forward from.
This wouldn’t be the first time that I have faced an accusation of lacking the mental ability to serve the position of Council Member in the MA. A former Chairman, who will not be named, stated the belief that I have the lack mental ability to serve on the Council. He would also call me terrible things such as an ape or a parasite. My speech, which is affected by a condition that I have, known as cleft lip and palate, was used against me and I was mocked for it by him. My recent records in the MA have shown that I have made legislation for establishing an organ for diplomacy and expanding our social media outreach. If that is not worthy of great leadership, then I do not know what would be deemed great leadership. I may have some differences from every member, but many people in the MA support my vision and what I have accomplished, and it’s not something that is truly harmful to anyone. I have nothing to hide here. I am available if anyone wants to contact me to explain some things. I am also available to testify through the court system of my innocence.”

The opposition to the decision in the MA, states that there has been a lack of evidence to prove that Anthony I is guilty and that Saspearian’s ban comes without the court involved in proving that Anthony I is not fit for office.
“I am extremely concerned for the state of the Micronational Assembly. It it is abundantly clear that personal disdain is being seen as “Justice” as it pertains to the removal from office and the subsequent ban of Saspearian. Saspearian has always been steadfast of his support of the MA for a very long time. It is perturbing that a trusted member of the council can be disposed of so carelessly, with spurious claims, no evidence or even due process. This goes against all propriety, and cannot stand! There must be swift and decisive action to be taken in this matter, such as reverse the unjust Saspearian ban, and any other action you deem appropriate, I implore you to make the right choice, for the fate of the MA rests in your hands. Impact on Election Results
SBC News confirms that the election results suggest that Saspearian, the Grand Kingdom of Ameristan, the Jewel Republic, the Great Lawl Reich, and Smithtown won the August 2022 MA Council election. However, on August 11, Fredrick M. announced on the MA discord server that the Grand Kingdom of Ameristan, Schwertesia, the Jewel Republic, the Great Lawl Reich, and Ballinfoyle were elected as Council Members.
SBC News has reached out to Fredrick M. for comment on the situation but has not heard a response from him.
