The December 2024 Parliamentary Special Election was an election that began on December 27 at 1:10 AM (Unueco Time) and was scheduled to conclude by December 29. Four of the six seats in Parliament were contested and had all been vacant since March. Three of the seats were in Logejo, and one seat was in Veranderen. The special election comes as a renewal of interest in Saspearian and its government, with newcomers joining in, and the election occured a month before the next general election, which will begin in January.
Initially, the special election was set to begin on December 20 and conclude on December 22. However, due to a recent coup attempt involving citizens River Kimmis and Luis Rutter occurring a few days before it would have been held. Anthony I decided to reschedule the election to ensure that all seats would be contested and that interest would remain.
A runoff election was also held on December 29 for one seat in Logejo, which concluded on December 30.
The citizens involved in the coup attempt were allowed to run due to rehabilitation, and the Saspearian Bonapartist Party was dissolved per the peace agreement between Saspearian and Freedonia.
