The July 2025 MA Chairman Special Election was a special election in which members of the Micronational Assembly casted their votes to elect the next Chairman of the organization. The election was held from July 16 to July 18, and the winner of the election will go on to serve for the remainder of the current term, which ends this month.
On July 5, following last month’s coup in the MA, Jebediah Powell agreed to transfer server ownership of the MA Server to Anthony I, as per a mutual agreement. Subsequently, Special Elections for the Council and Chairman were organized by Anthony I and the MA Court due to vacancies of one seat on the Council and the position of Chairman. The Council seat had previously been held by Malus, who had resigned in April, and the position of Chairman, previously held by Jonathan Gundy, has been vacant since June 14 due to his overthrow in the coup.
The Council Special Election was held between July 11 and July 13. There were two candidates who contested for the seat: Anthony I of Saspearian and the current Chief Justice, Onyx Adrienne of Nenggog.

Anthony I was elected by a landslide, receiving 77.8% of the vote in the election and defeating Onyx Adrienne. The turnout was 18%, with 9 out of 50 member states casting their vote. Both Saspearian and Nenggog previously held a seat on the Council, but were removed following the February 2025 trial, in which they were among the members accused of plagiarism surrounding their involvement in the Union of Micronations (UOM).
The verdict of this trial has since been deemed as overturned under the coup that was initiated by Jebediah Powell last month. This has been widely accepted by the Assembly, and on July 8, Chief Justice Onyx Adrienne declared the verdict to be officially overturned.
Chairman Election
The Chairman Election was scheduled to be held on July 15, around 11:00 PM Unueco Time, and the first results from the election came in within the first 10 minutes after the voting period began.
There were two candidates who ran for Chairman: Former Chairman Anthony I of Saspearian and Council Member Tanner Reusser of Silklandia.

July 17, 7:12 PM Unueco Time – SBC News has projected that Anthony I, who has previously served two nonconsecutive terms as Chairman, will be elected as the next Chairman of the Micronational Assembly. He will go on to serve for the remainder of the term, which concludes this month.
SBC News had previously forecasted on July 17 at 2:45 AM Unueco Time that Anthony I is very likely to win this race based on the current turnout data.
The turnout was 28.84%, with 15 out of 52 member states voting. Anthony I achieved a huge outperformance and increased upon his early lead, winning with 11 votes against Tanner Reusser, who received 4 votes. Additionally, Anthony I improved upon his previous electoral performance for Chairman by over 14 points, from 58.8% in the February 2025 election.
Following the announcement of the election results, Anthony I issued a victory speech thanking his opponent, Reusser, for running and his supporters, and reflecting on past events and his vision as Chairman.

I would like to thank all of my supporters for continuing to believe in my leadership. Although I have faced these challenges, my vision remains steadfast: preparing the organization for tomorrow.
As an Interim Chairman, I will prioritize stability and continue renewing activity as we head into this next term. Thank you, and let’s pave the way forward toward our future!”
