July 2025 MA General Election Live Results

The July 2025 MA General Election was an election in the Micronational Assembly, in which member states will cast their votes to elect the MA Council and Chairman. Following the Council Election, which was held from July 26 to July 28, a Chairman Election was held from August 4 to August 6.

The election comes following the Special Elections that were held last week, which saw Emperor Anthony I win the Council race and return to the Chairmanship after winning the Chairman Election.

Background

Per the election procedure in the MA, the five candidates with the most votes will be elected to the Council. In the case of a tie between candidates who have met the vote requirement for a Council seat, a runoff election will be held.

The Council Election had seven candidates. Three of the candidates, Saspearian, Silklandia, and Nenggog, have experience serving on the Council, with both Saspearian and Silklandia being incumbent Council Members. Nenggog previously served as a Council Member for a brief period in late 2024 and early 2025. Since the other candidates, Talossa, Cavingal, Saoirse, and Uhopia, are newcomers, there will be at least two newcomers elected to the Council.

SBC News has projected that incumbent Chairman Anthony I will be re-elected to the Chairmanship, based on the turnout data.

The incumbent Chairman, Anthony I, won with a large amount of the vote, receiving 12 votes and defeating James I, who received 2 votes. Anthony I has outperformed his previous voting share, surpassing the 80% threshold and setting a record for the largest margin of victory in a Chairmanship election in MA’s history.

Following the announcement of the election results, Anthony I issued a victory speech in which he thanked supporters and his opponent James I for running, and reflected on the past and present of the MA, as well as his vision for the future of the organization.

“I am greatly honored to be re-elected as Chairman of the Micronational Assembly. I would like to thank everyone who supported me throughout my campaign; I am truly grateful. I also thank my opponent, James I, for running alongside me, and I wish James the best in his future endeavors.

Throughout our history, we have faced various challenges, but each time we confront one, we emerge stronger. Our organization’s challenges have been like a ship sailing through a stormy sea, but with the help of new leadership and determination, we are now navigating to the shoreline and making steady progress. Today is not just the start of a new chapter, but of a new MA—a new MA formed from a commitment to a stronger organization, diplomatic endeavors, and contributing to the greater good.

We will likely confront a new set of challenges along the way, with the evolving state of micronationalism and the world, which may seem very daunting. But I believe in the MA, and we will overcome what lies ahead. Under my Chairmanship, I will prioritize creating more opportunities for member states through diplomatic events, improving our standing within the micronational community, and implementing much-needed reforms in the MA.

I look forward to working with all of you over the next six months, and together we will pave the way forward for a new MA.”
