The 2026 Saspearian General Election is an election that began at 12 AM Unueco Time on January 23 and is set to conclude on January 25. There are five candidates running in this election, and all but one seat in Parliament is contested. Almost all seats had candidates, with the sole exception of the one seat in Veranderen, which is currently held by MP Marek Flechensteine-Squirtzle of the Saspearian Progressive Party.
The election comes at a time when Saspearian has experienced some inactivity problems within its Parliament, but is generally still active as a nation. Recent trends in partisanship of Saspearian’s parliament have indicated that it has shifted towards the right, with some Members of Parliament such as Niall MacDavid of the Whig Party of Saspearian and Patreyk Narjid of the General People’s Movement in Saspearian aligning more towards the center. Patreyk Narjid is also the current Prime Minister of Saspearian, and has taken the nation more towards a centrist push, although the impact of ideological differences has yet to be seen in policies.

Anthony I of the Saspearian Worker’s Party currently represents Logejo in Parliament, and initially planned to retire from Parliament; he has decided to run for Parliament in Unueco due to the seat not being contested. Unueco’s seat is currently held by MP and former Prime Minister Elizabeth Malcolm of the Democratic-Socialist Party.
Emperor Anthony I is currently in the lead with four votes so far, which makes up all the votes that have been cast thus far.

Incumbent MPs Onyx Adrien Blackhawk, an Independent, Niall MacDavid of the Whig Party of Saspearian, and Patreyk Narjid of the General People’s Movement in Saspearian are running for re-election for their seats in Logejo. Former MP James Lyon Kimmis of the Saspearian Christian Republican Party is also running for Parliament in Logejo.
Patreyk Narjid, Niall MacDavid, and James Lyons Kimmis are each tied with two votes. Onyx Adrien Blackhawk is slightly trailing the other candidates with one vote thus far. One vote was cast for the abstention option.
