On Sunday, following the results of the 2026 Saspearian General Election, Anthony I appointed the former Prime Minister, Elizabeth Malcolm of the Democratic-Socialist Party, to serve as the MP for Veranderen’s sole seat in Parliament.
Although it was initially thought that Elizabeth Malcolm would retire from the Saspearian Parliament by not seeking re-election for her seat in Unueco, Elizabeth Malcolm revealed shortly after the announcement of the election results that she intended to run for Parliament but was unaware that the election had taken place.
Elizabeth Malcolm has announced her candidacy for the upcoming Prime Minister election, which is expected to also be contested by the current Prime Minister, Patreyk Narjid of the General People’s Movement, who also serves as an MP in Logejo.
