The 2026 Saspearian Prime Minister Election was a Prime Minister election, which was held from February 6 to February 8, in which the Prime Minister was to be elected by the citizens of Saspearian. The candidate who is elected as the Prime Minister will preside over the 5th Parliament.
There were two candidates: Former Prime Minister and Democratic-Socialist Party MP in Veranderen, Elizabeth Malcolm, and the incumbent Prime Minister and General People’s Movement MP in Logejo, Patreyk Narjid. Initially, James Kimmis, a Saspearian Christian Republican Party MP in Logejo, also ran for Prime Minister, but withdrew following an agreement reached with Patreyk Narjid to support Narjid’s campaign.
Elizabeth Malcolm was first elected as the Prime Minister of Saspearian in 2023, serving from April 2023 to January 2024. Malcolm returned to the office for a brief period in early 2025, after being elected in the January 2025 Prime Minister Election, defeating Luis Rutter. Subsequently, Malcolm ran for Prime Minister in the February 2025 Prime Minister Election, but lost narrowly to Jakob Vancapelle.
Both candidates recently ran in the May 2025 Prime Minister Special Election, which also saw Onyx Blackhawk and Niall MacDavid competing for the Prime Minister position. Patreyk Narjid won the election and has since gone on to serve as the nation’s current Prime Minister.
This election was expected to be competitive due to both candidates having experience in serving as the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Election
The Prime Minister Election was the third Prime Minister Election in Saspearian’s history, in which all citizens may cast their votes to elect the Prime Minister. Historically, the Parliament votes to elect the Prime Minister following the Parliamentary General Elections, and this rule has changed over the past year, with citizens now being allowed to elect the Prime Minister.

February 7, 11:35 PM (Unueco Time) – SBC News now projects that incumbent Prime Minister Patreyk Narjid will be re-elected to a second term as the Prime Minister of Saspearian.
Patreyk Narjid won by a narrow lead with five votes against Elizabeth Malcolm, who received three votes. Earlier in the race, Elizabeth Malcolm was leading against Patreyk Narjid; however, Narjid later retook his lead in the final hours of the voting period following a few instances in which the vote was tied.
